Exciting News!

John Nicolay, is the editor for the Virginia Writers Project. He is a talented writer and has a lot of patience in working with authors and developing new talent in students. I thought that my crazy idea might have a chance to become a reality. I crossed my fingers and pitched my idea. How about returning to the past, the way stories were often published in the 1800s? Back then, newspapers and magazines would publish a chapter with each edition until the end. To my chagrin, he said yes! This practice is “Serialized Fiction.” My first two chapters are now available in the Spring and the Summer 2025 editions of the Virginia Writers Project — both are available on Amazon.

And I have broken with tradition, and I am writing a short story that is a fantasy. I chose this genre because that is what my husband enjoys, and I gave him the first chapter as a Christmas present. Chapter 3 will be in the Winter 2025 edition. John has also beautifully illustrated my story, The River Tweed.
